My first trip to Tuscany was guided by the pleasant and knowledgeable team of Doug and Karen Hibovski. Essentially Renaissance specialists, Doug and Karen delighted us with the most exquisite restaurants, cafes and wine tasting adventures available in the Tuscan region. Their friendship with some of the locals meant we ate and feted with Italian families and friends. Our villa was in the midst of rolling vineyards, olive groves, cypress stands and an unbelievable abundance of warm, brilliant sunshine. Day trips took us to places like Siena, Florence and Montepulciano where we visited museums, markets and churches. Doug and Karen filled us in on the historical background and art movements that spawned the geniuses of Brunelleschi, Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. From music festivals in San Gimignano to artisan festivals in Certaldo, Doug and Karen gave us A UNIQUE AND NEVER-TO-FORGET-TASTE OF TUSCANY! |

We have vacationed by many different methods: cruises, tours, freestyle in a dozen countries and can honestly say that our trip last summer to Tuscany with Doug and Karen was our best travel experience yet! The beautiful scenery, the people, the food, the WINE and most of all the expertise and insight into the Italian culture Doug and Karen provided… We would highly recommend a trip to Italy with Doug and Karen!

You’ve got stunning 360 degree views that “Under the Tuscan Sun” and travelogues don’t even come close to capturing. Within an hour’s drive from Florence with its magnificent art and culture (and shopping), and in the other direction, Siena, a fascinating medieval walled city, you’ve got this charming farmhouse tucked into a peaceful valley. You’ll wake up to cowbells and the church bells of San Gimignano! You’ll enjoy wonderful food and wine in amazing venues all carefully researched by Doug and Karen. One such evening was spent under the stars, on a terrace encircled by the walls of an ancient limestone quarry as Doug, who is an accomplished musician, entertained us with his guitar. Doug and Karen, as well as being kind and gracious hosts, ar an invaluable source of information on all things Tuscan- making your holiday in Tuscany unforgettable - as they did mine.

Things were very well-organized, and some minor adjustments were made in deference to the problem I had with my ankle, and it was clear that a lot of thought and planning goes into things on your trips. There was something interesting and different everyday, and it was almost always very entertaining. Doug and Anita did a great job driving us around, there was a lot of kidding going on between them and us most of the time, and it was just a very enjoyable trip. I am used to traveling on my own, but traveling with the right people can be very rewarding. I had a lot of fun, and learned quite a bit also. Doug did a great job explaining paintings and painters and giving us pop quizzes to make sure we were paying attention. ;-) And Charlie got so that by the end of the stay he could even say San Gimignano! A true success story. Another smile. Thank you. Cindy
